These prices are indicative. The final price always depends on the motif, its size, where it goes and how many sessions it takes.
What drives the price
The price of a tattoo is not simply a function of its size. Two pieces of the same dimensions can differ by half. What decides it:
- Detail. A hannya with worked-through hair and teeth takes far longer than a simple silhouette of the same size.
- Colour. Packing colour is slower than black shading and has to be built up in layers.
- Placement. Ribs, elbow, knee and neck go slower — the skin there is thinner, more mobile and more sensitive.
- Background. Japanese waves and clouds often take longer than the main subject.
- Cover-ups. Covering old work needs more layers and more time.
The deposit
Every appointment is held with a 50 € deposit paid in advance. It is not an extra charge — it comes off the final price. It covers the time I spend preparing the drawing before we even meet.
Cancel less than 48 hours ahead and the deposit is forfeited. The reason is simple: at that notice I cannot offer the slot to anyone else. Let me know sooner and we move the appointment — the deposit carries over.
The 80 € minimum
This applies even to the smallest pieces. It covers single-use sterile supplies, setting up the station, disinfection and studio time. At thirty euros a tattoo there would be no way to work to the standard I hold myself to.
Large projects
A sleeve, a back or a thigh cannot be priced by the centimetre. For those the day rate of 400 € applies, for six to seven hours including breaks. Before we start we go through roughly how many sessions the whole piece will need, so you know where you stand.
A normal sleeve runs to four to eight sessions, so from about 1200 € depending on how involved and how colourful it is.
Payment
The deposit goes by bank transfer when we agree the date. The rest is paid after the session — cash or transfer, whichever suits you.
