和 彫 り Japanese tattooing in Bratislava
My name is Adam Rajnoha. I work in Japanese irezumi — dragons, hannya masks, shishi, koi and peonies. Every piece is drawn for the person it goes on, so that it sits on the body rather than being stuck onto it.
01 / Craft
The rules of irezumi
Japanese tattooing has its own composition. Waves, clouds and wind are not filler – they hold the whole thing together.
02 / Design
Drawn for you
No copying photos off Google. Every motif is made for you and for one specific place on the body.
03 / The studio
A clean place to work
My own chair at Rose And Dagger on Karpatská. Sterile equipment, quiet and coffee.
04 / Approach
No pressure
The consultation is free and commits you to nothing. If you are not sure, we would rather wait until you are.
哲学 Philosophy
Why Japanese
Tattooing is not decoration to me — it is a service that runs on respect, aesthetics, symbolism and mutual trust. The Japanese style has centuries behind it and a visual language of its own: every motif means something and every piece of background has a job to do.
I care about precision, good work and dealing with people properly. I take every motif down to the detail — not because that sounds good, but because it genuinely matters to me.
- A friendly, professional approach to every client
- A clean, comfortable studio to work in
- The certainty that you leave with something you are glad to carry
“I do not follow trends, and I leave realism to the people who enjoy copying photographs off Google.”
和彫り Main style
Irezumi
Japanese
tattooing
Irezumi is not a collection of pictures but a composition. A dragon, a koi or a hannya sits in a background of waves, clouds and wind that holds them together and follows the shape of the body. That is why Japanese work is at its best across larger areas — a sleeve, a back, a thigh.

Traditional
Heavy lines, saturated colour and motifs that do not date. Eagles, roses, panthers, daggers, anchors and pin-ups. As the saying goes, bold will hold — simplicity and clear colour are why these tattoos still read after twenty years.
What else I do
Japanese and traditional are my main styles, but not the only ones. If you have something in a different spirit in mind, say so — we will look at it together. I do not do realism.

彫師 About me
My name is Adam
I care about clean, precise work — every piece has to be worth carrying. Japanese and traditional are what I enjoy most, though I can be talked into other things (let us leave realism out of it, for everyone's sake).
When I am not tattooing I paint, or make odd but interesting objects. I work from my own chair at Rose And Dagger on Karpatská 23 in Bratislava — a clean, well-equipped place where you will find me by appointment.
質問 Questions
What people ask most
Irezumi is the traditional Japanese style, with its own rules of composition. Motifs such as a dragon, a koi carp, a hannya mask or a shishi are joined to a background of waves, clouds and wind so that the whole thing follows the shape of the body. That is why Japanese work is at its best across larger areas — a sleeve, a back or a thigh.
The minimum charge is 80 €. Small pieces up to 10 cm come to 80 – 200 €, medium ones of 10 to 30+ cm to 200 – 500 €. Large projects I count by the day, at 400 € for six to seven hours. A full sleeve starts at around 1200 €.
The 50 € deposit holds the date and covers the time spent preparing the drawing. It comes off the final price. If you cancel less than 48 hours ahead it is forfeited — at that notice the slot cannot be offered to anyone else.
I work from my own chair at Rose And Dagger on Karpatská 23, 811 05 Bratislava in Bratislava. I am not the studio owner; I come in for booked appointments — so always let me know in advance, you will not find me there without one.
Yes. American traditional is my second main style, and I also do engraving, dotwork, ornamental, blackwork and lettering. I do not do realism — it needs different preparation and full concentration, and doing it alongside Japanese work would mean doing both by halves.
No. An idea, a placement and a rough size are enough. I draw the design myself — send me references you like and we settle the rest at the consultation.
